Pumpkin

Without a home since Nov. 2023

10 month old Pumpkin was hit and then dragged by a car- and not a short distance either, due to the extent of her injuries. She was then left to fend for herself with a badly injured and infected leg for a MONTH. Yes, read that again, she was on the streets for a month with her leg mangled and infected.

Volunteers were able to trap her and get her to an ER vet just in time as her horrific leg injury had turned her entire little body septic. She was literally dying slowly from infection. Her best —only shot, really— was to have her leg amputated.

After a few days of antibiotics to prep for surgery, Pumpkin had her amputation surgery on November 22. She’s been learning how to play, potty, run, and balance in her new normal as a tri-pawd.

Throughout this entire ordeal, she has been nothing short of loving, friendly, tolerant and just wants love. She is GREAT with other dogs, cats and humans.

She is going to make someone a wonderful family member, we are so excited for her to finish healing and feel good again and be the healthy puppy she is meant to be!
