Cane Rosso rescue family, meet Monroe.

This stunning 9-month-old Golden Retriever/Labrador mix came into rescue after her family found themselves in a situation they never wanted to be in. Her mom was losing her home and, without secure housing, was desperate to find a safe option for Monroe rather than have her end up in a shelter.

So we made a move to help this sweet girl.

And Monroe? She’s been pretty wonderful.

She’s young, beautiful, sweet as can be — and just a little unsure about this whole “life shake-up” thing.

Monroe takes her time.

She likes to hang back, observe, and figure things out before she decides she’s ready to jump in. New people, new surroundings, new experiences — she wants to process it all at her own pace.

And we think that’s perfectly okay.

Because once Monroe decides you’re safe, you get to see more and more of the fun, loving, curious girl underneath that initial shyness.
She absolutely LOVES other dogs and has been wonderful with her foster dog friends. Having another friendly dog around seems to give her a little extra confidence as she figures out this new chapter.

She’s also learning that couches are pretty fantastic, treats are an excellent way to make friends, and having people who love you is a pretty great way to spend your day.

Monroe is only 9 months old. She has her whole life ahead of her — and so much personality still waiting to come out.

She doesn’t need someone to rush her.

She needs someone who will give her time, patience and the security to figure out that she’s safe.

And once Monroe decides you’re her person?

Well… that’s when you’re going to find out just how special this beautiful girl really is.
