Cane Rosso rescue family, we need to talk about Sophie. Because this girl is pretty damn special.

Sophie was one of two dogs we rescued from a gravel pit in the blazing Texas summer heat. No home. No soft bed. No air conditioning. Just trucks, heavy machinery, heat, and two dogs doing their best to survive.

When Sophie first came to us, she was understandably a little unsure of the whole situation. She’s shy when she meets new people and needs a little time to decide that you’re okay.

And honestly? We think she’s earned that.

Sophie isn’t the girl who’s going to barrel through the door demanding to be everyone’s best friend.

She’ll hang back.

She’ll watch you.

She’ll take her time.

And then, once she decides you’re her person?

Oh, you’re IN.

She’s sweet, affectionate, playful and incredibly loving with the people she trusts. Watching her come out of her shell and discover that people can be kind, that meals are regular, that beds are soft and that life doesn’t have to be about survival has been pretty damn amazing.
Sophie has gone from surviving in a gravel pit to learning the finer things in life — and she is absolutely here for it.

She deserves a home that will give her the time and patience to settle in, let her confidence grow, and love her exactly as she is.
Because underneath that initial shyness is a really wonderful dog just waiting to show you who she is.

And whoever gets to be the person Sophie finally decides is HER person?

Yeah. You’re going to feel like you won the lottery.
