HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A FOSTER PARENT? I have been fostering with Cane Rosso Rescue since 2018.

WHY DO YOU FOSTER? The reason I foster is due to the need for dogs to be in a home environment, it makes for an easier transition to their forever homes and even if it's just a few days away from the shelter (like for July 4th or over any holiday) a little break is so welcomed by them and can really help to make them more adoptable.

WHAT’S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE? The biggest challenge for me is my travel for work and inconstant schedule. I wish I could foster more often, but with the state of the world today (2020), it has allowed me to do so! CRR has so many ways to help, but I would really encourage fostering, you will be so surprised how all the little reasons you may think it won't work, just go away when you have the love of a dog in need in your home.

WHAT’S BEEN THE BIGGEST SUCCESS? My favorite foster memory is when I kept Odin before his surgery and had the family who ended up adopted him come over to meet him. It really was love at first sight for them and I still get to see photos of the big love bug and it makes my heart so happy.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE CONSIDERING FOSTERING? Just do it! The dogs from Cane Rosso have been through so much, you are giving them such a better life by giving them a stable place to rest their head. I have also gotten such joy of seeing the dogs I have fostered develop, learn new things, cuddle and enjoy my backyard. I really get more of it than they do! My dog of 15 years passed away in June and fostering is a great way to give love to dogs who need it, Shiner would have approved of Grace who is with me right now. Being able to open your home to dogs and allow their love in so then more love can be given out into the world is such a blessing.
