HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN FOSTERING? A little over a year (early 2019). I have fostered 16 bottle babies

WHY DO YOU FOSTER? Because I think every dog deserves a chance at a great life.

WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE? Bottle babies are so fragile, I don't usually exhale until they are about 3-4 weeks old.  Some are small and sick and don't have much of a chance.

WHAT'S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST SUCCESS?  Every puppy that has made it to their forever home...so far that's 13, my current 3 are only 5 weeks old.

Silas (now Maverick) was my biggest success.  One evening he decided to scare me and started fading quickly.  I knew that sound and I didn't want it to end that way.  One call to Kelly and she asked...do you think he has a chance?  I immediately said yes because he had fought so hard thus far.  Off we went to the ER...because naturally it was a Sunday night.  He was very sick and they only gave him about a 30-40% chance.  Three days later I picked him up and he got better each day.  He still has some health issues but he has defied the odds with everything that's happened to him.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE CONSIDERING FOSTERING?  Don't say you can't until you at least try.  Fostering isn't forever but it is the necessary step for a dog to find his forever home.  It doesn't cost you anything but time and love...everyone can spare a little of that.
